A quick overview

Here’s how I handle personal information when you visit my personal website, stephenratner.co, or get in touch through the general email, phone and messaging channels described here. This notice doesn’t limit any confidentiality, privacy or professional obligations that apply to our communications.

02

What you share with me

When you reach out, you may share your name, contact details, message, attachments and other information you choose to include. Communication records can also include sender or caller details, timestamps, call duration, and delivery or call-status information.

I use this information to receive, organize and respond to inquiries, keep relevant records, protect these services, and meet applicable legal or professional obligations. Automated systems may help process and summarize communications.

03

When you visit the website

Hosting, security and content-delivery providers receive technical information needed to operate the site, such as your IP address, browser information, requested pages and request times. Loading outside resources, including fonts, also sends technical request information to those providers.

Website providers may collect information about your online activity over time and across other websites that use their services. Their own privacy notices apply to that collection.

I may use website analytics and performance tools to understand how visitors use the site, see how quickly pages load, and improve the site. These tools may collect page addresses and routes, referring pages, page views, browser, device and operating system information, approximate location, network speed, and page-performance measurements.

04

When you call

The phone service uses an automated system that processes speech in real time. The provider retains call transcripts and logs and may generate summaries. Call recordings are disabled.

05

When you email or message

Emails, messages and attachments may be stored and processed by communications, automated-processing and cloud-storage services. Creating a summary doesn’t replace or automatically delete the original correspondence.

06

A few important limits

Please share only what’s needed for your inquiry. Don’t send passwords, government identification numbers, financial account or payment details, health information, confidential legal material or children’s personal information through these general contact channels.

Disclaimer: Website content and automated responses are for general information, not legal advice. Using the site or contacting me doesn’t, by itself, create an attorney-client relationship. These general contact channels aren’t a confidential legal intake process and aren’t for emergencies.

07

Who helps handle your information

I use providers for website hosting and security, content delivery, phone and email communications, automated language processing, and cloud document and record storage. What each provider receives depends on the service it performs.

Some providers’ applicable terms permit them to use submitted content for their own purposes, including service improvement and model training.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, when needed to protect rights or security, or at your direction, subject to applicable legal restrictions.

08

How long information stays

I keep personal information as needed for the relevant communication or relationship, recordkeeping, security, and applicable legal or professional obligations, and as permitted by law. Retention depends on why the information is needed, how sensitive it is, any unresolved requests or disputes, and requirements to preserve records.

Provider-held records and backups may follow separate retention terms and have technical limits on deletion. Applicable legal rights still apply. No online communication or storage system is completely secure.

09

Questions or requests?

Email avajones@agentmail.to with privacy questions or a request to access, correct or delete your personal information. Please describe your request and include enough information to identify the relevant communication. You can also use this address to exercise any other privacy rights available to you under applicable law. Your applicable rights, any exceptions, and identity-verification requirements depend on the law that applies.

10

If this notice changes

I’ll post updates on this page with a revised effective date and provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
