Classic neighborhood bakery on Gammel Kongevej - I used to walk over for a bun and a coffee in the cozy room. Very nice bread, lovely sweets.

Get the cardamom croissant and the cheesecake - the pastry stays flaky even late in the day. Busy but the queue moves smoothly; beautiful warm wooden room near the canal.

Worth the ride out to Refshaleoen - the eggs on sourdough were unlike anything I'd tried, and the rhubarb tart is next level, as is the focaccia. Busy but worth it.

The food halls by Norreport - our go-to for lunch and dinner three days running. Excellent variety and freshness; do the pork sandwich and a smorrebrod.

The postcard canal - colorful historic buildings, boats, and cafes. A bit touristy, but walk it, take the photo, and enjoy the atmosphere before moving on.

The smorrebrod set lunch at a Michelin-listed Danish specialist - two open-faced sandwiches and a dessert. They found us a table on very short notice, which we appreciated.

Design and food in a perfect duet - share plates, then the Jake fish.

Deceivingly simple - the Sunday menu is the move. It starts with impeccable duck rillettes, olives, and homemade bread; you could stop there, but don't. Family-style portions.

Everything in this ceramics shop is a work of art - the window display pulls you in and the inside confirms it. Pack purchases carefully for the trip home.

Relaxed cafe with genuinely friendly staff - the goat sandwich is outstanding. The eggplant parm is an excellent choice too; the lasagna is a non-traditional version.

My Copenhagen pastry tradition - I stop in every trip. Fresh-baked is great; skip the iced chocolate, which arrives as milk with ice chunks.

Sustainable denim shop with great people - lots of cuts and textures, plus secondhand and upcycled pieces. The caps look great too.
